The USA leads the world in putting fluoride in the water supply and now the British Government intends to expand it across the UK, even though the evidence that it protects children’s teeth is poor.
Health Professionals Don’t Want It
Pharmacologist Arvid Carlsson who won the Nobel prize said “this is against all principles of modern pharmacology. I think those nations that are using it should feel ashamed of themselves.”
A statement calling for the end of fluoridation has been signed by 1,733 professionals on the fluoridealert.org website. These include 226 dentists, 219 doctors and 225 PhDs. The President of the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology has added his name as well as six past presidents. It also includes the Board of Directors of the American Academy of Environmental Medicine.
More Toxic Than Lead
The reason for such support from health professionals for the banning of water fluoridation is that fluoride is extremely toxic. It’s toxicity is greater than lead and it’s almost as hazardous as arsenic. As an enzyme poison fluoride is capable, even at low doses, of a wide range of harmful effects.
Because of these facts, the very prestigious Nobel Medical Institute advised Sweden not to proceed with this measure, and in France, the Pasteur Institute recommended against it in the strongest terms. It was banned in Holland and Denmark. However countries that are strongly influenced by the USA, like Britain, tamely follow their lead in wanting to add this toxin to the water supply.
Health Problems We Could All Do Without
A huge amount of evidence from the scientific literature shows that fluoride…
1. disfigures the teeth and skeleton
2. damages the repair systems of DNA
3. causes damage to genes
4. pushes up the risk of contracting certain cancers
5. makes one more susceptible to brittle bones
6. causes brain development to be abnormal
7. can lower I.Q
8. causes hypothyroidism
9. reduces fertility in men
Fluoride Has Value When Used Topically NOT Internally
In any case, major dental researchers concede that fluoride’s benefits are topical not systemic. That fluoride is ineffective at preventing pit and fissure tooth decay, which is 85% of the tooth decay experienced by children. That dental decay is coming down just as fast, if not faster, in non-fluoridated industrialised countries as fluoridated ones.
Fluoride & The Top Secret Cover Up
It seems strange that governments and the medical establishment would want to poison the water supply. But there’s a simple reason for this.
Declassified documents reveal that during the second world war, huge quantities of fluoride were needed for the top secret US Manhattan Project to produce the atomic bomb. After a factory accident which blighted the surrounding area in New Jersey in 1944, the Government and factory owners were sued by farmers.
The Government were horrified. They were concerned about future law suits, that atomic research could be held up and that the dangers of fluoride would become common knowledge. So they had scientists carry out research into fluoride for the sole purpose of defending themselves against legal action. This research is flawed and of little scientific merit. Yet governments continue to push the idea that water fluoridation is safe and has health benefits because they can’t bring themselves to come clean and tell the truth.
