The Cherokee Triangle Historic District is a rich historic place where the homes have been preserved over the years. It is just two miles from the downtown of Louisville. There are a lot of coffee shops, restaurants, movie theaters, boutiques, antique stores, and amenities like the hardware store, grocery and book sellers that when the residence wanted to go there all they had to do was to walk from their homes.

You can take a walk under mature trees that has been around for a hundred of years. These trees will give you the shade and beauty will you take your walks. The Frederick Law Olmsted’s Cherokee Park and Willow Park are also in walking distance. The park is a place where it is safe and has an urban oasis for riding your bike, playing around or just sitting around.

In order to preserve the history of the district the Cherokee Triangle Association was created on 1962. The district was declared a Preserved District on 1972 with the help of the Cherokee Triangle Association. Many years have pasted since the association was created but until now they have still make a point to preserve the history of the district.

Since 1972 there has been a Cherokee Triangle Art Fair to celebrate their rich heritage. By exchanging plants with each other it started the Cherokee Triangle Art Fair. Another activity that the association holds is the concerts at the Willow Park. Together with the Louisville Federation of Musicians they sponsor the concert at the park.

For this year the Cherokee Triangle Art Fair will be held on April 25 starting with the Childrens Parade at 10:00 A.M and after which the booths will be opened. Booths will close by 6:00 P.M. but the food court will remain open until 8:00 P.M. On April 26 the fair will close at 6:00 P.M.

From 1:30 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on April 25 and April 26 there will be live music. The King Sonic that is famous for their Jumpbilly Boogie Blues and Lamont Gillespie famous for their Blues/R&B will be performing on April 25. The bands will be Cosa Salsa known for their Salsa music and Vinyl Kings known for their oldies type of music will perform on April 26.
