Competition for mobile eyes is fierce. Turns out Magic Kingdom Orlando wants a piece of this pie as well.
Folks, and kids, are spending less and less time in front of the old boob tube. But they’re not decreasing their screen time. More people are spending time with their mobile devices.
Wired Magazine has recently reported that Disney is attacking the 9- to 14-year-olds with a new web portal.
On their latest web portal, they will be offering ringtones and wallpapers that can be bought directly on the teen’s and pre-teen’s cellphones.
Mini-games, like Pirates of Caribbean, will also be available.
So, is this a good move for Disney?
Maybe. I’m not a big fan of marketing to the younger audiences in this fashion. But it makes good sense for Magic Kingdom Orlando.
